“Fall has always been my favorite season. The time when everything bursts with its last beauty, as if nature had been saving up all year for the grand finale.” -Lauren DeStefano

Fall is one of my favorite seasons outside the flourishing flowers of spring. The weather is just starting to cool to hibernation, autumn leaves falling from the trees in beautiful hues of fire and honey. And of course, we can’t forget about Halloween, the best holiday of all. Oh, the magic of fall… this perfect place of in between.
This year, like every year, I got in the spirit with a local pumpkin patch that perfectly captured the heart of the season. My children love a good pumpkin patch! Owl Creek Farms turned a hot Texas day into an autumn paradise between the hayrides, petting zoo, and endless rows of pumpkins. It was the kind of place that, when you left, you took a little piece of magic with you.
While roaming around among endless fun, we came across some really amazing local businesses. From delicious, right-off-the-grill brisket nachos by Barry’s Good BBQ, followed by decadent desserts made elegantly by Sister Time Sweets, all the way to Citrus Got Real with their freshly squeezed lemonade… chef’s kiss. Life truly cannot get better than that.
If you ever find yourself in the San Antonio area during the fall season, I highly recommend checking out Owl Creek Farms. Not only is it a good price for entry, they are all about supporting local businesses! After all, they are the ones that make the season the magic that it is!
XOXO,
Shay
