About Me

Hey, I’m Shannon… or Shay, whatever suits your fancy. I’m a wife, a mom, a lifelong lover of learning, and a self-proclaimed hippie with a head full of questions. Dishes & Discourse is the space I created to sort through all my mind clutter and reflect, grow, and say the things that usually get lost between the laundry and the late-night scrolling.
Here, I write about modern issues, self-love, motherhood, food, gardening, culture, and whatever else stirs the pot in my mind. Some posts are soft, some are spicy, and some are just about what we had for dinner.
I believe growth happens in layers… In the dirt, around the table, in our relationships, and in ourselves. This blog is also about creating a space for mindful ideas. A place to pause, question, and reconnect with what matters.
I am a full-time student, a homeschooling mom (who follows a curriculum that meets state standards), and a wife who is trying to keep joy, hope, and curiosity alive in my day. This blog will grow as time allows. Slow. Steady. Honestly. I hope it inspires you in some small way, but if nothing else, it’s a collection of thoughts I’m glad to have gathered.
If you’ve ever found yourself pondering the world mid-stir, or pushing back against the norm while folding laundry, welcome. You’re in good company.
